Jupiter got its name from Rio
Jove. The British anglicized the Jove which was roman for Jupiter. It is now
composed of communities ranging from Jupiter Farms (mostly 1.25 acre home
sites), The Shores (winding smaller homesites with sidewalks and more
uniform houses), golf estates, waterfront condos and old frame houses. The
oldest building is the Jupiter lighthouse, over 100 years old. Jupiter
Florida is known for its school system and is a favorite of families.
Jupiter has miles of ocean beaches (including a beach where you can walk
your dog), great parkland and some of the best restaurants. The beach
front developments are mostly in Jupiter between A1A and route 1 and the
real estate there is fairly developed. With a few high rise real
estate projects most are single family or town home. Real estate
further inland includes some great golf clubs such as Jonathans Landing and
Admirals Cove.

The condo market is taking off on Singer
Island (million dollar island)- and in downtown West
Palm Beach. Palm Beach Gardens real estate is developing with downtown in
the gardens: a shopping, movie theater, and entertainment district.
Jupiter Florida real estate is developing Riverwalk and of course Abacoa.
If you prefer non gated communities you should look at the older parts of Palm
Beach Gardens and North Palm Beach. If you are shopping for a golf
course community remember that most have an equity fee from 20,000 to over
300,000 dollars. And if you are on a budget there are some condo

foreclosure problems that some of the lessor priced properties did. So in
Old Palm, Frenchmans and Ballenisles don't expect to see a massive reduction in
price.
